North East Equality Awards

I am delighted to announce the launch of the 2008 North East Equality Awards

The 2007 North East Equality Awards were presented to the winning applicants during a celebration dinner in September 2007. I was proud to be a part of the evening and proud to be part of a region where so many employers are carrying out good equality and diversity practices and what is more, reaping the business benefits of that good practice. I was excited and delighted at the pleasure the awards engendered amongst the finalists and winners.

We cannot be complacent. If we are to continue to make a difference in the region it is important that we recognise those employers who are positive about equality and diversity. We need to celebrate their achievements and give them an opportunity to share that good practice. The North East Equality Awards does exactly that.

The 2008 Awards sees more categories, more sponsors and expects, yet again, record breaking applications. There should be a category that suits your organisation whatever its size We are constantly looking for those that have made a difference and those that have strived to make equality a reality.

This year the celebration dinner will be held at the Gosforth Marriott on 19th September, I hope to see you there
