Using the equality duties to make fair financial decisions
This guidance is targeted at those people who need to know how to assess the impact proposed changes to policies, procedures and practices could have on equality. Although the law does not compel public authorities to carry out a formal Equality Impact Assessment (EIA), the Commission recommends for public authorities to use it as it help ensuring that the assessment process is robust enough. For this reason, our guidance for practitioners focus on the key stages of the EIA process as follows.
