Supporting BAME Colleagues in the Workplace

17th September 2019 | Birmingham

Due to the success of recent events in London and Manchester we are delighted to be launching Supporting BAME colleagues in the Workplace in Birmingham.

Despite the current climate, BAME (Black, Asian, Minority, Ethnic) representation in the leading positions of UK workplaces remain stubbornly low. One in eight of the working age population are BAME and yet just one in sixteen top management positions in the UK is held by somebody from an ethnic minority background.
This conference offers practical advice on removing the barriers that are preventing BAME representation in the workplace.

Key sessions you cannot afford to miss:
Understanding the ethnicity pay gap and gap reporting
The business case for diversity and engaging non-BAME colleagues in the process
Achieving leadership buy-in
Moving from unconscious bias to race fluency
Analysing race in the workplace and using targets to drive diversity and inclusion forward
Boosting engagement within your workforce and tackling the under- utilisation of skills
The role played by networks, sponsorship, mentors & champions
Addressing intersectionality in the workplace
Discussing whether the BAME label helps or hinders workplace diversity
