It’s a bad time for women’s politics and pay
Martin Rowson’s brilliant cartoon in the Guardian, published a few days after the US election result, pictured a very drunk and disreputable 2016 driver smashed into a bloody lamppost, making the lame excuse that the year was almost done. For many of us, we might wish it had never started, or perhaps could start all over again.
Certainly from a female perspective, the week commencing 7 November doesn’t appear to be one to have been proud of – neither for politics or HR. We witnessed the election of a future president described by one commentator as ‘groper in chief’ and the aspirations of his rival – the first real chance of a female US president – defeated.
