Inclusive Recruitment for Managers

Please note: This is a closed course for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Service. Recruiting the right talent for your business is pivotal to success. Understanding how to ensure your business is truly inclusive, has a wide range of benefits. Removing barriers and ensuring that your organisation is open to everyone regardless of disability, age, race or other protected characteristics can create a reputation as a good place to work, reduce employee turnover and enhance the satisfaction levels of your staff members. This programme covers the recruitment process from advertising the vacancy through the appointment of the candidate. Retail Academy - Gateshead College and Intu

You must be unemployed to be eligible for this course. This course provides an excellent opportunity for those who would like to work in either the retail or hospitality sector. If you are unemployed and claiming benefits you are eligible to apply for the course. Job Centre Plus, Gateshead College and intu have teamed up to provide a pre-recruitment training package to build your knowledge and skills in the retail or hospitality sector and to support you in to employment. You will gain nationally recognised qualifications, take part in a store tour either in a restaurant or retail store, have a mock interview and be well equipped for interviews. A total of 15 days full time, Monday to Friday 9.30am until 4pm. A visit to a retail store or restaurant and a mock interview are part of the course. There are various awareness session dates throughout the year which are approximately monthly and if successful you will be invited on to Retail Gold. What you'll learn / gain skills in •Introduction to Customer Service •Job search skills •Interview skills •Health and safety •Equality and diversity •Retail/ Hospitality Skills •Store or Restaurant Tour •Mock interview Entry Requirements This course is for unemployed people claiming benefits. No formal entry requirements. However, all students will complete a short initial assessment and are required to gain entry level 3 for literacy and numeracy. Students must also provide eligibility evidence to meet European Social Funding regulations, including: •Employment status •DOB •Residency •National Insurance number

Hospitality

We are able to provide a series of workshops and offer a range of qualifications to you and your workforce to develop essential skills within the retail and hospitality sector. The workshops can be delivered at flexible times to suit your organisation such as various times during the day, evening and weekends. Workshops can also be delivered on site and training may be received on a 1-1 basis where required. This training package will be designed in partnership with you and will be bespoke to the specific needs of your staff.
