: Inclusive Leadership 5 day programme – County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service

This is a modular programme which can be completed consecutively or spread out across a longer period. The initial two-day programme covers: -
• Role of the Line Manager
• Listening and Questioning Skills
• Values and behaviours, aligning personal beliefs to the business
• Processes of Stereotyping and how this manifests in the workplace
• Impact of discrimination on individuals and the organisation
• Equality Act 2010
• Change and the impact on individuals, teams and the wider business
• Challenging inappropriate behaviours
• Assertiveness skills
• Having difficult conversations

Additional modules that can be added to build a comprehensive and individualised development programme include: -

• Principles of leadership and management (1 day)
• Management behaviours and leadership styles (1 day)
• Conflict and change management (1day)
• Stakeholder engagement and relationship management (1 day)
• Inspirational and ethical leadership (1 day)
• Providing exceptional customer service (1 day)
• Principles of business & how individual teams contribute to success (1 day)
• Problem solving and handling conflict (1 day)
• Effective meetings and recognising and handling conflict (1 day)
• Planning and preparing for business presentations (1 day)
• Events Management (1 day)
• Financial and operations project management (1day)
• Personal and professional development (1 day)
• Project Management – Prince2 Foundation (1 day)
• Mentoring Staff within The Workplace (1 day)
• Coaching Techniques (1 day)
• Inclusive Recruitment for Managers (1 day)
• Business Continuity Planning (1 day)

This modular approach allows a development programme designed around an individual’s job role or specific development needs, rather than a generic leadership and management programme. It provides a solid foundation for those who wish to progress on to accredited Leadership and Management programmes at level 3 and above.
